Purchasing a Puppy
APPROVAL: We like to try and get to know each of our potential families before we approve your home for a puppy. You can always call us at 519-678-3949 or email stephaniewilkins19@yahoo.ca to let us know you are interested in a puppy and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Preference is always given to people with a family home where the puppy will be well socialized and given lot's of attention and love.
PRICING: Prices for puppies is determined based on the Sire and Dam, as well as bloodlines, colours, age etc. Please contact us for current prices on any of our litters. We do not sell breeding rights, so all of our prices are for pets only.
DEPOSITS: Deposits are non-refundable. We cannot guarantee sex, colour, size or number. If your desired puppy is not born or the breeding was not successful and you have already sent in a deposit, it will be applied to another upcoming litter of your choosing. If you decide not to get one of our malamutes for any reason, your deposit is lost and will not be returned. Deposits are generally half of the purchase price - this is to show us you are serious about taking a puppy. A deposit can be paid by certified cheque, cash, bank transfer or money order once your home is approved.
VISITING: We allow visits to our home to see new puppies at the age of 3 to 4 weeks - at this stage in their life, they will have begun to develop their own personalities and will be large enough to pick up and snuggle. Pictures will be posted on this website, or you can always request certain photos of parents and pups you are enquiring about until visitation can be scheduled.
SPAY/NEUTER: All of our pups are sold on non-breeding, spay/neuter agreements. You are required to sign a contract to that affect. You will receive your puppies papers once we have received conformation of your spay/neuter from you vet.
BREEDING RIGHTS: We do not sell breeding rights to pet homes and they cannot be purchased for additional cost.
CHOOSING YOUR PUPPY: The order in which our puppies are chosen, is in the order we have received deposits. We always reserve the right to have a "breeders pick" of either sex in which we get to choose our puppy first. Occasionally we will have puppies go to show/breeding homes, in which case these homes are automatically given priority.
RETURN/RE-HOME POLICY: In the case that you can no longer care for your dog for any reason, he/she will be returned to us before rehoming. We will up date any shots, spay/neuter, deworm, flea treat if necessary, and temperment test all dogs before placing them in a home. We do require the registration papers for each dog to be returned along with the dog and signed over to us so that the new owner may obtain registration with the CKC. Vet records are always great and any personal effects to make your dog's transition that much easier. We do not require a formal document stating you are turning over the dogs; a verbal statement saying you can no longer keep them and you are returning them will relinquish all of your rights to your dog. Once the dog is back in our care, it then becomes the property of Ironpride's Alaskan Malamutes.
We reserve the right to deny/decline any person for any reason.
Your puppy will not be held without a deposit.
Deposits are non-refundable.
Adopting an Adult Dog, Puppy or Horse
As with our puppies, we like to get to know any potential homes for any of our animals. Please call us or email and let us know which of our animals you are interested in. If we feel your home is a match, we will be happy to schedule a visit.
As with our puppies also, all our dogs are sold on Non-Breeidng agreements, unless otherwise discussed. Our horses are sold with full rights, accept in the case if the animal is not wanted in which he/she is to be returned here (unless we decide otherwise).
Adoption fees vary depending on the animal, again taking into account age, sex, personality, etc. Contact us for adoption fees on animals.
Boarding
On occasion we will board malamutes who we have produced for their families. Whether you're going on vacation, have an emergency to attend to, or want them to come for 'grandma boot-camp', we would be happy, space provided, to have them here while you're away. They can stay outside in one of our kennels with their own dog house, or inside with us; whatever they are more comfortable with.
Boarding fees start at $25 per day per dog, witb you supplying your pet's food. Treats and toys are supplied by us. Your pet must be up to date on his/her shots and be free of fleas and worms etc prior to drop-off. We can arrange an arrival and departure time that suits both of our needs.
If a dog is not picked up on the original pick-up date planned, and contact has not been made within 24 hours of the pick-up date, the dog is considered to be abandoned and will become the property of Iron Pride's Alaskan Malamutes.
